Instructional Strategies
InTASC Standard #8 Instructional Strategies: The teacher understands and uses a variety of instructional strategies to encourage learners to develop deep understandings of content areas and their connections, and to build skills to apply knowledge in meaningful ways.
Introduction
Instructional Strategies
In my classroom, I use a variety of different instructional strategies to ensure that my students are learning and retaining information in ways that are meaningful and developmentally appropriate. The majority of my instruction is in literacy, and many of my instructional strategies revolve around literacy to ensure that students are mastering and retaining the information that we learn every day. These instructional strategies include the use of daily Guided Reading Literacy Centers, utilizing field trips and technology in literacy instruction, and literacy visualizations that students can refer to in order to help retain information after instruction.
